Calvert Beach International Invitational Cup (June 15, 2012 – June 17, 2012) offers the most competitive international youth soccer in North America plus genuine Southeast hospitality. The CBI Cup V is by invitation only and teams are selected for invitation based on their competitive performance as shown on the on-line application. All performance information is verified through the CBI Cup V worldwide network. In past years, teams and referees have traveled to the Washington, DC area from various states to referee the tournament. Format
In the opening round robin beginning on Friday with completion on Sunday evening, teams are bracketed into groups of four and are guaranteed a minimum of three games. Group winners and/or wildcards advance to the elimination stage of the tournament. All games are played on grass fields in the Calvert County area, all within easy driving distance of the CBI Cup designated hotels. The Opening Ceremonies, featured games and all finals will be held at a stadium venue. Trophies and medals are awarded to all finalists and souvenirs to all competitors. The CBI Cup is sanctioned by United States Youth Soccer Association, United States Club Soccer, the United States Soccer Federation and FIFA. The Patuxent Football Academy is the host club for the CBI Cup.

Last year’s Tournament brought teams from 12 different associations; Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, and internationally, Bermuda, Canada, and Trinidad & Tobago .

The week is full of additional activities that include optional visits to Washington, DC to visit the White House, Monument, MLK Memorial, and other great sites in addition to Six Flags and other Amusement Parks are only less than 45 minutes away from your hotel. If you prefer to stay in Calvert County, no problem, the county features a beach on the Northside and the historic Solomon’s Island to the south.
Accommodations & Local Transportation
The tournament has developed several partnerships with hotels and transportation companies to accommodate your needs. We will have a final list of our transportation and hospitality partners in February 2012. We will only refer the best partners for you at discounted rates.
Team Registration Process
Team registration will begin Friday evening before the tournament and will close Saturday evening at 5:00pm. There are no registration facilities on Sunday morning.
Team arrival for International teams should be planned for Friday and USA teams from outside the Washington, DC metropolitan area should arrive Saturday morning or early afternoon at the latest.
Maryland, Virginia, and DC teams are required to complete registration on the Saturday morning no later than 11:30 am prior to the beginning of the tournament.
International teams are required to complete the registration process by no later than 1:00pm on Saturday.
USA teams are required to complete the registration process by no later than 5:00pm on Saturday.
When arriving on Saturday, make sure the arrival time is early enough to arrive at the Headquarters Hotel no later than 3:30pm so registration can be completed by closing time at 5:00pm.
Tournament play begins Friday evening at approximately 6:00 pm
Invited teams should make their travel plans accordingly and be ready to play their first game on Friday evening.
The Quarter-finals, Semi-finals and Finals are scheduled from Saturday through Sunday of the tournament week depending on the age group.
HomeStay Program
International teams may request the CBI Cup HomeStay program (for players only). The program, which places players in the homes of local soccer families, is available on a limited basis but is not guaranteed until confirmed by the CBI Cup. Requests for the HomeStay program should be made as early as possible. Teams from North America (Canada, Mexico and the USA) are not eligible for the HomeStay program.
The HomeStay Program, at no cost to the international team, includes sleeping arrangements and two (2) meals per day for a maximum of twenty two (22) players in any of the CBI Cup age groups U15 and up. The international team is responsible for the cost of hotel rooms at one of the CBI Cup designated hotels and meals for all adults, supporters, etc., any additional meals for the players, all entertainment costs for the entire delegation and local transportation in the Washington, DC area. The local transportation is to be in the form of van, bus or car rental sufficient to transport the entire delegation and luggage for all team activities.
Teams that are approved for the HomeStay Program should arrive in Washington, DC on the Thursday evening prior to the tournament week and must end their stay the Monday morning following the conclusion of the tournament.
The HomeStay Program will not exceed 5 nights. If travel plans call for arrival or departure dates other than those mentioned, the international team is responsible for all additional expenses related to the players sleeping arrangements and meals prior to the HomeStay Program beginning or after the date of conclusion of the program.
All other expenses related to the trip and time in the area for the entire delegation are also the responsibility of the team
International teams requesting the HomeStay Program must indicate this request on their application form. International teams must also indicate if they will still participate if the HomeStay Program is not available.
International teams that are approved for the HomeStay Program will be given detailed information upon notification of invitation to participate in the tournament.

U11 – U12 (8v8) – $625
U12 (11v11) – U15 – $675
U16 – U17 – $700
Payment must be made via Credit Card IMMEDIATELY at point of online registration. Payments made via check must be submitted within 10 days of registration and will accrue an additional $25 check processing fee. If a team withdraws after receiving an invitation, the entry fee is forfeited. There will be no exceptions. All teams (USA from outside the Washington, DC area and Internationally) that wish to be considered for an invitation are encouraged to submit their on-line application as soon as possible.
Applications will not be accepted from USA teams after May 1, 2012.
Application will not be accepted from International teams after May 15, 2012.
The CBI Cup reserves the right to close any of the age groups at any time prior to May 15, 2012 should the Selection Committee deem it appropriate.
